My granddaughter was named Aven after the flowers, Mountain Avens. Her sisters are Lilly and Sophia Rose (both "flower" names) leading her parents to find another flower. They had never heard the name used for anyone else and never even considered it to be a name for a male.

My sons name is Aven also, but I took my beloved grandmothers name, Neva, and reversed it. I too get compliments on how unique his name is

My name is Aven and I am male. The female version means mountain flower. The male version has 2-3 meanings, depending on how you look at it. The 2 fo'sho meanings are: Irish/Gaelic; manly, strong. In Nordic it means pile of money. The 3rd is French, which means cavern. In Gaelic/Irish, it is pronounced Ay-vin. In Norwegian, (which mine is) it is Ah-vin. I'm not sure of French.

My son was born in April of 2008 and I named him Aven because it was such a unique name. I also was looking for names for him and was reading the Bible when I came across the word heaven, I immediately decided to take Aven from there. Everywhere I go and people ask for his name, I tell them and they ask where I get it from. He is Aven Kofi who loves to dance, memic what he hears, have you read to him, talk on the phone. He is loved by everyone he meets, a people person like mom, busy body. I love him.

I might be wrong, but I think Aven is a flower or a term in the flower world. I think it'd make a good boy name.

I, too, have a baby boy named Aven. He was born in March and my daughter (3) named him... We have no idea where she got it! But we loved it.

My son is also named Aven my husband came up with name right before wegot married and did not plan on having kids.We decided that was a sign.Boy or girl Aven was the name.He was born in April of 2007 and it is perfect for him.It is avery unusaual name and I'm proud to the mommy of one of the very few.

I named my baby girl Aven Tau'ri-Celeste, river, earth(bull), celestial- Basically water, earth, air. I also, found an obscure text about Merlin's vision of a girl named Avenanoble in which she cut her hair and became a knight, then in battle the emperor they where fighting against discovers her secret and marries her ending the war. I thought that was cool.

I named my son Aven on August 28 2003. I got it from a Magic the Gathering playing card game. The image was of a hawklike bird warrior. My husband wanted to name him Axel. That wasn;t going to happen.... Anyway, he is now 7 and he loves his name, he isnt one of the 4 De'shaun's in his class. Everyone he meets thinks his name is Aiden. He is quick to correct them. I am glad I chose this name, but kind of dissapointed to see others doing so. Ah well, such is life.

My son was born in 2009. I had already decided on another name, then 2 weeks before he arrived I heard of a river named Aven. I fell in love with it immediately! His name is Aven Nicholas. I have found that Aven translates on paper better that spoken...everyone hears, Aiden, Avon etc.
I kinda thought that would happen, but I just love this name ( for a boy or a girl). He is my second boy. He is very rough and tumble. He loves books and is quick to understand things. I think he will be a charmer, mr. joe cool. He is also very sweet and tender. |

My son is named Aven as well. I got this name from a classmate that I went to highschool with. Everytime I have to tell someone his name they love it and think it is so unique. I wanted a name that not everyone had when he was born in 2007 .. I liked the brayden and Aiden names but they are too commonly used these days.. sooo Aven it was! :) I love it..

MY NAME IS AVEN!!!!! aven antonio anderson to be exact i got all a's for initials. i love it everyone loves my name because not really anyone has it. im always the only aven my friends know and at the school i go to . im 16 and joining the military in 2 years (army) and hope you name your kids aven to. im kinda settting the example lol

I've never met anyone named Aven before. My parents named my after the flower Aven. I'm glad that i'm not the only girl named Aven
